Dot _separatorIn an age when everyone seems to lightly refer to themselves as an online journalist, it takes a heavy dose of effort for a single individual to stand out from the crowd in this ultra-cyber world we live in. Rachel Lynch, most commonly known as"I Hate Blonde,"uses her fresh approach to style and her sincere writing voice to pull herself to the front of the line of other pseudo bloggers, sparking heaps of attention from magazines and celebrity on-lookers alike. There's no doubt why this talented woman has acquired such a large growing fan base, as her interests span from underground designers to forensic science. Get to know the young student as we sit down and chat about her daily musings and the bright future which follows her in this month's This Miss KL.

Tell me a little bit about yourself.  Where are you from? What are you most interested in, and how did you get into blogging?

I'm from Chicago. I'm most interested in blogging, fashion and writing. I got into blogging because I was modeling/running away from home. I wanted a place where I could keep all my photos from my shoots, as well as pictures I took from art school, so the blog just happened.

Who would you say your reader is? What's their personal style like?

My reader is a total babe. She's the baddest bitch in her high school and of course, the best dressed. She has a notebook covered with Lisa Frank stickers in every class, and eats Cookie Crisps for lunch. She wears platforms whenever possible, and has a variety of character themed backpacks. She has a wild lust for the world.

Describe your beauty routine?

I need to get one.

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is complicated. Somewhere between alien and princess. I'm always decked in all black and white or pastel threads. I've got the biggest shoes on the littlest legs. I'm either wearing a snapback or carrying a unicorn/Barbie purse. I like to dress up as different characters. Some days I look like the girl that raises hell, and other days I look like a pretty princess from My Little Pony.

So I hear you're a huge science fanatic. What exactly draws you into the subject, and what's your favorite science experiment to do?

Yes! I'm graduating this month with a degree in Science Journalism. I love health, medicine and the environment. I enjoy writing breaking-edge stories in all of those fields. There's so much going on in the health and environmental world right now. People are finally waking up and learning things for themselves. I took a lot of classes in Forensics and Forensic Chemistry when I started out. I kind of thought I wanted to do top secret work for the government like my Mom once upon a time, so I'd have to say my favorite experiment is testing for drugs in blood or saliva.

Do you have a bucket list? If so, what's on it?

Next on my bucket list is probably to spend a year living on the beach. I want to surf every day and see if I can keep myself away from the city for an extended period of time.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

Probably anything my Dad's said. He's a straight up hustler. Shawty got his game together. He coaches professional basketball and runs his own firm. He is my best friend and my role model.

What is one assumption/rumor you've been receiving that you would like to squash completely?

Everyone seems to think I'm blonde. I'm totally not anymore. I'm brunette in real life now.

What other hobbies do you have?

I like to run. I actually run really, really fast. I enjoy my eclectic friend group and making content for my blog.

What is it like being a well-known blogger? Do people usually recognize you everywhere you go?

Yes, I always get yelled at "OMG, it's I Hate Blonde!" As if I don't have a real name. It's always, "OMG, you're I Hate Blonde." I usually just leave it at that, people don't have to know my real name.

Has there been any weird/creepy/scary moments where your fans got a little too close for comfort?

Yes, I've had a lot of weird/creepy/scary moments with fans. I actually have restraining orders against two people (not my doing, my dad was scared for me...lol!) But I've had people wait outside my classes for me, or hang around my table while I'm trying to just chill at Starbucks. It's all good though, I'm honestly really flattered and humbled by it all.

Is there a certain organization you feel strongly about and support?

I went to Catholic school for all of my life, so I think the Catholic Church is really dope.

Is there something most people don't know about you? Any hidden talents we should know about?

Most people don't know that I'm really committed to my family and friends. If you're a true friend of mine, then I'll do anything for you. If my homies don't fuck with you, then I don't fuck with you. Same with my family. They are everything. My Dad is my best friend and the most important person in my life. I am the oldest of four. I have two sisters and one brother. My sisters are both beautiful and my brother is an amazing basketball player.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? Any accomplishments you'd like to make?

I see myself living and working in New York City. I hope to run my blog full time, but wouldn't mind having a health and beauty column in Marie Claire or something of the like.
